Faith & Leadership Community
A residential community for students attending college in Sacramento

Are you...

  • a student working towards a degree at a Sacramento campus?
  • exploring the place of faith and religion in your life?
  • committed to social justice and community service?
  • between the ages of 18 and 28?
  • seeking help with expenses?

What is the Faith & Leadership Community?
The Faith & Leadership Community is a collaboration between the Episcopal and Lutheran campus ministries to provide Sacramento area college students a chance to live in an intentional faith-based community with other students. It offers students the opportunity to explore their faith and their religion while emphasizing Christian fellowship, intentional living. and community service.

What will I be doing?
Your commitment:

  • live in community with other young adults
  • participate in a weekly community theological reflection with a clergy person
  • participate in a weekly house meal which includes helping to buy and prepare
  • choose and work at one of 5 selected social service agencies for 3 hours per week
  • attend weekly worship services and participate in the life of All Saints Episcopal Church
  • meet with your spiritual mentor for spiritual direction at least once a month
  • enroll in a Sacramento Area college/Univeristy for a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester and remain in good academic standing.
  • pay the monthly $250 program fee.

The F&LP has partnered with numerous local community service organizations to offer a variety of volunteer positions so you can find an opportunity that compliments your major, career goals, or personal interest. Food and Clothing Closet Aide
Variety of positions at Area women's homeless shelter
Food Closet Intern
Dining Room aide feeding the homeless for lunch

Other Information:
The apartments for the FLC are located immediately south of the Sac City campus, adjacent to the All Saints Episcopal Church where students will attend.

The Faith & Leadership Community welcomes students of all majors, denominations and stages in their spiritual journey. You don't have to be sure of anything, just open to exploring the questions; that's the whole point. FLC is a collaborative conversation on spirituality and, like all great conversations, diverse viewpoints are an essential part of meaningful and productive discourse. Bring your voice to our table!
